Arjun Kapoor gives credit for the father-son duo bond to Jhanvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor
Arjun Kapoor sees his father Boney Kapoor in a different light because of the sisters. The actor said he loves his dad even more now.
When it comes to personal life the young actor, Arjun Kapoor has never been secretive about it. The actor had a strained relationship with his father Boney Kapoor before the demise of actress Sridevi. In several interviews, the actor had revealed that he couldn’t connect with his father because of his second marriage with Sridevi. However, after the demise of actress Sridevi, the son stood up by his father’s side keeping everything aside.
The actor recently got an interview with a fashion magazine ‘Harper’s Bazaar India’ and spoke about his family dynamics and how his relationship with them has evolved with time and thanked his half-sisters for the bond he shares with his father.
Talking to Harper’s Bazaar India, Arjun told that he didn’t get to live with his father much while growing up and he had been told that he is like his father but he doesn’t get to see it. In the interview he said, Through meeting Janhvi and Khushi, and breaking that barrier, I have now been able to build a more authentic relationship with him. We have all confronted many of our demons. It has to do with letting go, which is very cathartic…it is strangely therapeutic to just sit around and talk rubbish, and realize that you were holding onto things, unknowingly or knowingly, because you were supposed to. But I love my father more because of both of them. It is complex. I have been able to see my father in a different light. If I didn’t share this equation with Janhvi and Khushi, I would have resented many things and never felt the need to reconnect with him at this level”.
The actor even says that it is complex and he sees Boney Kapoor now in a different light. He further agrees that if he didn’t share this equation with his half-sisters today, he would have resented many things and would have never felt the need to reconnect with his father. That’s mature indeed.
On the work front, the actor was last seen in Sardar ka Grandson and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. The actor has a new project of south remake movie.
