Kangana Ranaut to be awarded national award for 5th time
Thalaivii is a biopic of Indian actor-turned-politician Jayalalithaa, which is releasing on September 10.
Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivii movie is getting high reviews and is being praised for her performance as Jayalalithaa, with Arvind Swami as MGR, Raj Arjun as his close aide, and confidant, and Nassar as M. Karunanidhi also drawing abundant praise. Some are going a bit to extend saying that star actress could get nominated for her fifth National Award, which would make her just the prime actor in the history of Indian cinema to have seized the prestigious award five times. And if the latest approval is anything to go by, then talks for Kangana Ranaut receiving her fifth National Award for Thalaivii has just fired up a long period.
The vote of confidence has come from none other than Kangana’s parents, who saw the movie after the screening for critics and had no doubt in congratulating their daughter for her fifth National Award victory. The Thalaivii actress took this news to her Instagram handle and shared a story along with a photo of her proud mother and father and captioned it: “Mummy, papa after watching the film #Thalaivii …said congratulations for 5th National Award.”
While talking to the actress about whether winning the National Award, she said, “I got four National Awards. Two of them under Congress rule and two in BJP’s rule. So, there is no chance of criticism. It is not fair to say I will win the award for this movie. I have given my best but there can be even better performances from others as well.”
