My roots are in Afghanistan however, I’m an Indian citizen, says Arshi Khan when being trolled over her citizenship.

Arshi Khan in an interview opened up on her connection with Afghanistan and revealed that she is often misunderstood for being a Pakistani citizen.

The Taliban has seized the capital city of Kabul in Afghanistan just a couple of weeks before the US was set to complete its troop withdrawal after a two-decade war and rechristened the country as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Now Bigg Boss contestant Arshi Khan in an interview opened up on her connection with Afghanistan and revealed that she is often unnecessarily targeted and trolled over her citizenship by people and often misunderstood that she is from Pakistan.

She says, “I have a hard time when people unnecessarily target and troll me while questioning me over my citizenship. They misunderstand me to be a citizen of Pakistan who is living in India. And for this confusion at times, I have suffered on my work front too. These are such sad experiences of life. I want to make it clear once and for all that I am an Indian in every way. I own all Indian government-approved identity cards. I am not from Pakistan, but very much from India itself.”

She also added, “I’m an Afghani Pathan, and my family belongs to the Yusuf Zaheer Pathan ethnic group. My grandfather had migrated from Afghanistan and was a jailer in Bhopal. My roots are in Afghanistan but I am an Indian citizen.”

She alongside together with her household shifted to Bhopal when she was 4 years previous. Arshi made her performing debut in 2014 with the Tamil movie Malli Mishtu. She has appeared on Bigg Boss 11 together with Vikas Gupta and Shilpa Shinde. She returned for Bigg Boss 14 as a “challenger”. She has appeared in several other reality shows and music videos along with TV shows like ‘Savitri Devi College & Hospital’, Vish, and ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’.
