Recovering from the illness, the actor had to undergo dialysis on a regular basis. He got back to work when Mann Kee Awaaz season 2 was launched in 2021.
Apparently, he used to complete his shoot and then go for dialysis, thrice a week.
In his nearly three-decade-long career, Shyam featured in films like “Satya”, “Dil Se”, “Lagaan”, “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi” and received critical acclaim for his role as Thakur Sajjan Singh on “Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya”, which aired in 2009 on Star Plus.
He resumed his work to play Thakur Sajjan Singh again for the second installment of the show because he didn’t want to let his fans down in the second season.
In an interview the actor said, “Zindagi ki jung ladh raha tha, wahan se aa gaye hain ab. Now with the show Pratigya, I want to entertain the audience again.”
