Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan’s recommendations modified the destiny of HAHK in the domestic box office
HAHK managed to collect over Rs 72 crore at the domestic box office.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun, directed by Sooraj Barjatya, was a romantic drama genre starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead role. It was released in 1994. Even after so many years, the film is still recognized today for its songs and dance routines. The movie had 14 songs with a run time of greater than three hours however, not all of them made it to the ultimate cut.
When Sooraj Barjatya’s film was premierely shown to the Bollywood insiders and not many of them had the patience to watch the full three-hour show. But only Salman’s father and veteran writer Salim Khan and YRF’s Aditya Chopra genuinely liked the film.
Again in 2014, the Hum Aapke Hain Koun crew was celebrating its 20 12 months anniversary. As reported by Indian Specific, Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan in a video revealed, “We had so many trials, 50-70 trials. Two folks liked it, one was Salim uncle, the opposite was Aditya Chopra. I had this massive trial at Liberty cinema and the complete trade was there.”
The filmmaker remembered how the public left the show in the middle of the film. When he came out after the screening, he had trade people walk up to him and offer him some kind of condolence, “They said, ‘Yeh sabke saath hota hai (this happens with every filmmaker), you start working on your next’. I knew this film was doomed.”
Sooraj Barjatya then revealed Salim Khan known as him up and requested him to take away two songs – Chocolate Lime Juice and Mujhse Juda Hokar. Whereas many noticed the 2 songs on the TV, many didn’t have the prospect to look at them in theatres.
Salim Khan’s advice changed the fate of the Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Sooraj recalled, “I cut off (those songs) on the third day and that’s when the collections rose.”
Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit starrer Hum Aapke Hain Koun grew to become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Commerce stories claimed that the movie managed to gather over Rs 72 crore on the home field workplace. It was an enormous success within the abroad market as effectively.
