Shilpa Shetty set to make first public appearance since Husband, Raj Kundra’s detention
Several Bollywood and international celebs will make an online presence for a fundraiser event
Shilpa Shetty will make her first official appearance following her spouse, millionaire Raj Kundra, was arrested in a porn racket controversy. The actor is set to attend a Covid-19 relief event alongside Bollywood and worldwide celebs like as Arjun Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Ed Sheeran, Karan Johar, Parineeti Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, and Sara Ali Khan.
The online event, themed We For India: Saving Lives, Protecting Livelihoods, is scheduled for August 15th. The event’s revenues will be used to give oxygen concentrators, cylinders, ventilators, critical medications, and ICU units. Funds will also be used to help with the personnel of vaccination centres.
Donations are also anticipated to help with long-term public rehabilitation and livelihood reconstruction.
Actor Rajkummar Rao is set to host the three-hour videothon, which will begin streaming on Facebook on the evening of Sunday.
This event is taking place about a month following Raj Kundra’s detention in connection with the suspected production and publication of pornographic content. Shilpa Shetty, his wife, has been trying to stay out of the media interaction since his imprisonment. She has chosen a breather from the fourth season of her reality programme Super Dancer.
She released an Instagram message last week imploring all to maintain her family’s privacy for the sake of her children, Viaan and Samisha. “MY POSITION… I HAVE NOT YET MADE COMMENT AND WILL KEEP REFUSING TO DO SO ON THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS IN DIFFICULT SITUATION, SO PLEASE STOP ATTRIBUTING FALSE QUOTES ON MY BEHALF. As a celebrity, I always say, “Never complain, never explain.” All I will say is that, although the inquiry is still ongoing, I have complete trust in the Mumbai Police and the Indian court “she stated in her statement.
“As a family, we are pursuing all possible legal options; but, until then, I sincerely urge you – particularly as a MOTHER – to honor our privacy for the sake of my children, and to avoid from commenting on half-baked material before confirming its truth,” she had said.
