Shilpa Shetty to face a 2 crore loss due to her absence from the TV show
Due to the recent case of arrest, actress Shilpa is prone to losing a lot of money since she is not appearing on the show
Raj Kundra, the husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, was detained on July 19 in a pornography-related crime. He is suspected of creating and uploading explicit content on an application called Hotshots, that is reportedly controlled by a UK-based firm with ties to Kundra’s Viaan Industries. Whilst Kundra is in judicial prison, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is investigating Shilpa Shetty’s role in the incident. She has been interrogated twice, and no proof has been discovered against her.
Shilpa Shetty apparently had an emotional break down and shouted at her hubby when he was taken home for the investigation on July 23. Shilpa allegedly said Raj when he returned home for the first time following his arrest, “We have everything, what was the need to do all this?”
Shilpa reportedly sobbed upon meeting her husband and stated that the “family’s reputation had been damaged, their endorsements in the business had been cancelled, and she had to give up numerous projects.” She allegedly also discussed monetary loss.
Furthermore, Shilpa Shetty, one of the jurors on the dancing reality programme Super Dancer Chapter 4, has been absent from the set since Raj Kundra’s detention. In her unavailability, Karisma Kapoor was cast as her substitute for one episode, while Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh would appear as celebrity guests in the forthcoming episode. However there have been rumours that Shilpa may be fired from the programme, insiders have told a media outlet that the broadcaster has made no such choice. Shilpa is scheduled to return in a month when the matter has been resolved.
Throughout her disappearance she is going to suffer a significant financial loss of almost Rs. 2 crore. Shilpa, according to the source, is the highest earning judge on the programme, earning anywhere between Rs. 18-22 lakhs every episode. With two episodes shown each week, the diva stands to lose approximately Rs. 2 crore if she is able to return within the next three weeks. With fresh discoveries and disclosures in the pornographic case being made on a daily basis, the case is likely to be long, leaving Shilpa out of the spotlight for an extended length of time.
Shilpa Shetty, very recently made her film debut after 14 years in the same week of her husband’s arrest. She made her big screen comeback in Priyadarshan’s film Hungama 2, which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on July 23; the same day, authorities raided her Juhu house and interrogated her for six hours. She had also opted not to attend any of the film’s promotional events following her hubby’s arrest.
