Sonam Kapoor on Aisha’s 11th anniversary tells, “Fashion Industry has been more supporting than the film industry”

Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Aissha’ celebrated its 11th anniversary on August 6, and the actress commemorated the event with some fascinating recollections from the film’s production. Sonam’s sibling Rhea Kapoor produced ‘Aisha,’ which positioned the actress as the supreme fashionista in Bollywood. In a recent interview, Sonam stated that after the film’s release, people criticised and laughed at her for wearing dresses. Sonam shared an anecdote from a party in which a rising filmmaker, who is now excellently established, glanced at her clothing and remarked, “Where is Sonam Kapoor going in this outfit?”
Sonam Kapoor went on to say that she had become a convenient target and that the folks she grew up with had stopped supporting her after she joined the profession. The ‘Neerja’ actress stated that the fashion business has been more supportive of her than the movie industry. Rhea and Sonam Kapoor decided that they overcame the film industry’s harassment by sticking together and supporting one another.
‘Aisha,’ directed by Rajshree Ojha, starred Abhay Deol, Ira Dubey, Cyrus Sahukar, Amrita Puri, Anand Tiwari, Arunoday Singh, and Lisa Haydon among others.
Sonam was ressiding in London along with her spouse throughout the lockdown. While being in the UK, the actress finished filming her next feature, named ‘Blind.’ This thriller movie, directed by Shome Makhija, tells the storey of a blind police detective on the hunt for a serial killer. ‘Blind’ began filming in December 2020 in Glasgow, Scotland, but was completed in 39 days from start to finish. Sujoy Ghosh, who joined the team throughout the shoot in the Scottish city, also produced the movie.
