Mr. Sood had met Punjab Chief Minister Charanjeet Singh Channi as well. previously, he had met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who declared him brand ambassador for a “Desh ka Mentors” programme for school students. Although Mr. Sonu has been feted by politicians and parties, the actor has always said his charity has nothing to do with politics.

The meeting with Mr Kejriwal created buzz of a political debut, perhaps in Punjab election as an Aam Aadmi Party candidate.

Meanwhile, Sonu Sood had told reporters at the time, “No politics was discussed. As of now we have not discussed anything political.”

The 48-year-old man’s unconditional help during the pandemic situation earned him the tag of the “messiah of migrants”.

The actor arranged buses, trains and even flights to take thousands of migrants, stranded and helpless in the lockdown, to their home state.

Moreover, during the second wave hit this year, he organised oxygen for Covid patients.

Sonu Sood’s philanthropy during this pandemic proved that he is not only reel life but also a real life hero.
