Veteran music composer Vijay Patil dies at 78
Vijay on May 22 2021 died at his residence in Nagpur due to Cardiac Arrest.
Vijay Patil better known as Raamlaxman, was an Indian composer, pianist, musician and accordionist. In 1976, Raam (his partner Surendra) died immediately after signing the film Agent Vinod in 1977. Laxman continued to retain Raam’s name in Marathi as well as Hindi films. He was introduced to the film industry by Dada Kondke, for whom he made Marathi songs in the very beginning.
Vijay on May 22 2021 died at his residence in Nagpur in the early hours of Saturday. He was 78. The reason for his death was cardiac arrest. “He took the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield, six days ago. There was no problem at that time… But once he was back home he started developing weakness. His parameters were dropping daily. Doctors were attending at home. He passed away at around 2 am on Saturday. He had a cardiac arrest,” his son Amar told.
Raam Laxman gathered a lot of fame in 1989 with the Salman Khan film, Maine Pyar Kiya. His biggest hits came in collaboration with Rajshri Productions. He gave music for more than 200 films in Hindi, Marathi and Bhojpuri languages.
Some of his other notable works are Agent Vinod, 100 Days, Anmol, Tarana, Patthar Ke Phool and Hum Se Badhkar Kaun.
