“Waqt ka takaaza hai,” Dharmendra on the postponement of Apne 2
Sequel Of 2007 Hit Apne 2 Is Postponed To Next Year 2022
Director Anil Sharma was all set to bring the ‘Deol’ trio to the theatres with the sequel of his 2007 hit movie Apne. Reprising their roles in Apne 2, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Dharmendra will be joined by Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol in the movie.
The movie’s release date was announced this year and was also expected to clash with Shahid’s upcoming movie ‘Jersey’. Due to the pandemic situations, the shoot couldn’t move forward and the makers of the film decided to postpone the release date to the year 2022.
Versatile Actor Dharmendra who was all set to start the shoot of his family film, a sequel to 2007 hit Apne featuring the legendary patriarch with his two sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, would now have to wait.
“Right now, the way things are in our country and all over the world, we all must exercise utmost caution. Do only what we must. Shooting Apne 2 is not a must-do project at all. It can wait. After all, that is the advantage of working with family. Jabb chaho shuru karo kaam jab dil mein aaye khatam karo start when you want and end when you wish,” said, Dharamji.
Dharamji speaking in favour of Director Anil Sharma said, ‘He’s no different than my own son’. Sunny has done many films with him. His most successful ‘Gadar’ was with Anil only. Some of my most successful films are with Anil…Hukumat, Elan-e-Jung, Tehalka, Farishtay… all major action films. Apne is an emotional subject and we are all looking forward to the sequel. Currently, it is not the right time for it. Waqt ka takaaza hai. Let’s hope and pray that this pandemic crisis will be over soon.”
The star-cast of Apne 2 includes stars like Dharmendra, Bobby Deol, and Sunny Deol reprising their role in the sequel. To be seen together for the first time in reel life, Karan Deol is all set to work with his father, uncle, and grandfather in the much-awaited movie. The female leads for the movie have not been disclosed yet.
